When I enrolled at Charter College, I was just days out of an abusive marriage. Going to school was something I always wanted to do, but my ex wouldn't let me. I knew this was something I had to do for me. Shortly after starting school, I increased my hours working as a caregiver to full time, working 50-60 hours a week. I managed to keep this work schedule all through school. With only a few months left in school, I found out I was pregnant. Even though I was sick during my pregnancy and working that crazy schedule, I managed to maintain perfect attendance and a 4.0. After my externship, I was offered a full-time position at The Vancouver Clinic. All of my dreams are finally coming true all because of one decision to do something for me.
